Scott is one of those exceptional software engineers with outstanding leadership and project management skills. He is a founding partner and Principal Software Engineer at Device IQ with over thirty years of experience as a software engineering consultant.
Scott has designed, developed, and managed software projects for companies in a wide-range of industries including medical device, aerospace/defense, HVAC, security, and commercial electronics. He has played a key role in a number of FDA-approved medical devices. Among his many accomplishments are the design and development of software components for a fully-automated, genetic genotyping instrument and his work on the development of several patient point of care devices. He has also developed applications for functional, calibration, and configuration test stands used in a manufacturing environment; designed and developed a web-based kiosk system used to dispense security access cards; and prepared the design history documentation required to submit a laboratory pipetting device to the FDA for approval.
Currently, Scott is leading a team of engineers in the development of a blood analysis device that includes image acquisition and processing as well as an Android-based user interface. The device is scheduled to be submitted for FDA approval later this year.
Scott and his wife, Karen, have six kids that keep them very busy. With three of their kids in college, the couple stays busy with visits to Marquette University in Wisconsin and Bloomington, where two of the kids attend Indiana University. When he’s not on a road trip, you will find Scott on the sidelines at the kids’ many sporting events.
